Medical Marijuana, Inc. to Feature Prominently at This Month’s Cannabis World Congress and Business Expo

The third annual Cannabis World Congress and Business Expo kicks off its three day event in New York City to focus on one of the fastest growing industries in the United States – marijuana.

The Cannabis World Congress and Business Expo (CWCBE) is set to take the Javits Center near midtown Manhattan by storm over three days in June, from the 15th-17th.

Visitors to the CWCBE will be able to attend seminars throughout the three days on topics like “CTE, Concussion, and CBD” with former professional athletes Jim McMahon of the Chicago Bears, Nate Jackson of the Denver Broncos, and Riley Cote of the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday and “Looking Outside the USA – The International Opportunity” on Friday, among over 60 total lectures, panels, and seminars.

Attendees can also view an array of products on the expo floor geared to every aspect of the cannabis industry, from trimmers to vacuum sealers to point-of-sale systems. There will be over 100 exhibitors on the convention center floor educating the public on their products. As seen in a short video clip from NBC New York, many of the companies being featured at the expo specialize in non-psychoactive hemp products or in ancillary services that will be needed in the burgeoning NY cannabis industry.

In a lead up to the convention, the New York Post profiled our CanChew® gum in an article about the expo. Mentioning the wide variety of CBD hemp oil products sold by Medical Marijuana, Inc., the New York Post highlighted the nutritional benefits of CanChew® gum and the fact that it is non-psychoactive and available for purchase in all 50 states.

On Thursday, Kannalife™ Sciences CEO Dean Petkanas and founder Thoma Kikis will host a presentation titled “Cannabinoid Therapeutics”. New York based Kannalife™ Sciences holds exclusive intellectual property rights and licensing agreements for the development of the 6,630,507 patent, “Cannabinoids as Antioxidants and Neuroprotectants”. Under the “507 patent”, Kannalife™ is developing cannabinoid-based treatments for hepatic encephalopathy (HE) and chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). Kannalife Sciences has also developed the synthetic cannabinoid KLS-13019, which is 50 times more potent and 300 times safer than natural cannabidiol (CBD).

Then on Friday, Dr. Stuart Titus, CEO of Medical Marijuana, Inc., will present “Nutritional Benefits of Industrial Hemp/Industrial Hemp Seed” at 1 pm. The presentation will outline the research and findings into the nutritional and health and wellness benefits of hemp oil. The lecture will also highlight the anecdotal evidence surrounding the benefits of CBD as a medical treatment. Because New York has one of the strictest medical marijuana programs in the nation, products made from hemp oil that are high in CBD are still popular among patients who don’t qualify under NY’s rigid guidelines because of their national availability.

HempMeds® spokesperson Penny Howard will also be at the expo and has been invited to speak on Wednesday to a group of CDKL5 moms. Mother of the late Harper Howard, a young girl who was diagnosed with the rare genetic disorder CDKL5 and suffered severe seizures as a result. Through the Hope4Harper non-profit, Penny raised awareness for CDKL5 and CBD hemp oil, directly leading to a series of challenges to marijuana policies in Brazil, Mexico, and Paraguay. Sadly, Harper passed away earlier this year, but her legacy was empowered to live on when her parents donated her tissue to the Muotri Lab in San Diego to further research into neurological diseases like Harper’s and the way CBD interacts with the brain.

Medical Marijuana, Inc.’s Real Scientific Hemp Oil™ (RSHO™) has been responsible for a surge of new medical marijuana laws in Latin America. After parents in Brazil, Mexico, and Paraguay educated themselves on RSHO™ and CBD, HempMeds® and Medical Marijuana, Inc. worked closely with families, doctors, and government officials in these countries to change local marijuana laws. Reform came faster than we could have imagined, and in recent months, patients in Brazil were approved to use RSHO™ for cancer, epilepsy, chronic pain, and Parkinson’s disease with their doctor’s prescription, while in Mexico and Paraguay, sufferers of epilepsy can now petition the government to import RSHO™ as part of their treatment.

Medical Marijuana, Inc. is excited to participate in this year’s CWCBE. This one-of-a-kind event is a chance for entrepreneurs, industry insiders, and healthcare providers to gain hands on knowledge of our products and educate themselves on most important topics in the marijuana industry. If you can’t attend the expo this month, there is also a West Coast CWCBE in September in LA.
