Dr. Stuart Titus appeared on podcast Yew Media yesterday to discuss cannabinoid research and share the many successes that Medical Marijuana, Inc. has achieved in recent months.
Radio personality Chris Cantore recently invited Medical Marijuana, Inc. CEO Dr. Stuart Titus onto his Yew Media podcast to discuss the science of cannabinoids and the company’s role in the growing cannabis industry. The interview also features High Times writer A.J. Herrington.
The full podcast episode can be heard below:
The interview first focuses on what brought Dr. Titus’ to the medical marijuana industry. In the 1990s, he first learned about the medical benefits of marijuana while treating local professional and collegiate athletes who confided that they were using cannabis for pain, inflammation, and sleep. Intrigued, Dr. Titus actively pursued symposiums and read the available research on cannabinoids to discover their antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and neuroprotectant properties.
From there, Dr. Titus discusses the science of the endocannabinoid system and its role in maintaining the proper function of the human body. He explains how cannabinoids work together for a botanical entourage effect, and how cannabidiol (CBD) is more preferable in some cases because it’s non-psychoactive. Dr. Titus then shares the anecdotal evidence and studies investigating CBD’s effects on seizures, specifically calling out a recent study on pediatric epilepsy disorders in Mexico.
Finally, the interview ends with Dr. Titus revealing the recent achievements of Medical Marijuana, Inc.’s portfolio of companies. He talks about the company’s recent expansions into Latin America, including Brazil and Mexico. From there, he discusses how the shifting attitudes and legalization expansion in the U.S. indicates future success for the cannabis industry.
