Medical Marijuana, Inc. Portfolio of Products Receive U.S. Hemp Authority Seal
The U.S. Hemp Authority has awarded companies and brands in our portfolio with their Certification Seal, once again confirming the high quality of our line of hemp and CBD products. In total, the organization presented 13 of their Certification Seals to hemp and CBD businesses in this first round of approvals.
“As the market for hemp-derived products undergoes rapid growth, it is critically important for us to signal to the world that we intend to act responsibly. Quality assurance and safety must come first, and that’s why we set off on this journey,” said Marielle Weintraub, PhD, president of the U.S. Hemp Authority. “Creating these standards was a long journey, but after thousands of pages of public and stakeholder input and countless hours of hard work, we are thrilled to announce our first awardees today.”
Being part of this first selection of hemp companies and brands to receive this seal is an important recognition of the quality and safety measures Medical Marijuana, Inc. has instituted to ensure the integrity of our products and the satisfaction of our customers. Products from Real Scientific Hemp Oil™, Dixie Botanicals®, and other popular brands in our portfolio will soon carry the Certification Seal on their labels.

Medical Marijuana, Inc. CEO Interviewed On Hemp Industry

Then, Dr. Titus discussed the anticipated effects of the 2018 Farm Bill and its legalization of a U.S. hemp industry with Cannabis Radio show Concierge for Better Living with Doc Rob. A provision in the 2018 Farm Bill removed hemp from the Controlled Substances Act, legalizing hemp cultivation, manufacturing, and retail nationwide. CBD for Pets in the News
CBD for pets was featured in the news this week as hemp-derived CBD products continue to trend as the latest health and wellness product for pets. Phyto Animal Health worked with veterinarians to develop its line of pet CBD products.
“Like humans, animals have an endocannabinoid system that is used to regulate their body,” says Ian Quinn, CEO of Phyto Animal Health, to Well+Good. “Unlike THC, which in high quantities can be toxic to animals, CBD is non-psychoactive and won’t make them high.”
“Find a reputable company and do some research first—starting with acquiring a certificate of analysis (COA) from the manufacturer, which will prove that the product contains what it claims on the label,” Quinn continues. “You want to make sure that your CBD oil is abundant in CBD and low in THC, or in some cases, doesn’t have any THC at all.”
Phyto Animal Health was also included in The Motley Fool in an article exploring the potential of the CBD market for pets and on Supreme Health Fitness Hub and Awement.
Kannaway Teams Up with Professional Athletes
Medical Marijuana, Inc. subsidiary Kannaway has partnered with professional athletes, including gold medal winning Olympians, Super Bowl Champions, and MLB stars, to help promote the use of CBD by athletes of all levels as a training and recovery tool.
With this in mind, the company had two new developments in this effort last week. First, Kannaway announced that NFL Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson will be giving a keynote speech at the company’s upcoming Believe National Convention, scheduled for April 13th & 14th in its hometown of San Diego.
“It’s an honor to be invited to this large respected event and share my story on how hemp-derived CBD has helped me,” said Eric Dickerson in a press release published on L.A. Cannabis News. “Before trying it, I was skeptical about CBD but as I gained a greater understanding about what it is, it became easy to see how it has the potential to benefit many people.”
News also broke last week that former NFL kicker Mike Hollis has joined the company’s Kannaway Sports team. As part of its outreach initiative for athletes, Kannaway has partnered with nearly a dozen athletes to obtain testimonials based on their own personal experience using Kannaway products.
“I know my position in the NFL wasn’t one where I was getting hit full force every day, but the unending benefits of CBD for discomfort and overall health are what really caught my eye,” said Hollis in an article posted on Direct Selling News. “It’s only a matter of time before everyone understands that CBD is not bad, it’s natural and doesn’t have negative side effects.”
