AXIM® Biotechnologies Pushes Forward with Flagship Drug Candidate
AXIM® Biotech recently announced that the company has received its a GMP manufacturing license from the Netherlands’ Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport. This milestone allows AXIM® to proceed with its clinical trials for its flagship drug candidate MedChew Rx®.
“It’s a major milestone for the development of the company,” AXIM CEO George E. Anastassov, M.D., D.D.S., told GEN.
Anastassov continued by saying that production of MedChew has already begun, outsourced to U.K.-based Kay Pharma, for use in a Phase III trial to be launched soon. “We hope everything goes according to plan to complete the Phase III in the first quarter of 2019.”
MedChew Rx®, a gum combining CBD and THC, will undergo clinical trials assessing its safety and effectiveness in treating pain and spasticity associated with Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
