Liz Carmouche Joins Medical Marijuana, Inc. Family as Spokesperson
HempMeds® announced this week that it has partnered with MMA fighter Liz Carmouche to promote the benefits of CBD oil products for athletes like fighters in MMA (mixed martial arts).
“I’m excited to share my experience of taking Real Scientific Hemp Oil and hopefully help other people, especially athletes, discover this natural compound that is not only safe to use during intense physical activities, but is non-addictive and won’t get you high,” Carmouche said. “There’s just a lot of misinformation out there and I’d love to help clear that up.”
Carmouche fought in the first female UFC fight. A U.S. Marine Corp Veteran, Carmouche is the UFC’s most decorated ex-military athlete and is the first openly gay UFC fighter. Nicknamed the “Girl-rilla”, Carmouche is currently the No. 6 ranked female flyweight in the league.

Phyto Animal Health Introduces CBD for Pets
Medical Marijuana, Inc. launched its animal wellness subsidiary Phyto Animal Health last week. Media outlets from both the cannabis and pet industries picked up the story to promote the use of the non-psychoactive CBD for animals of all sizes. Phyto Animal Health distributes a pair of CBD oil products that can be added to a pet’s diet to encourage overall wellbeing. Phyto Animal Health also carries all-natural hemp animal bedding and litter.
In regards to the companies launch, Medical Marijuana, Inc. President and CEO Dr. Stuart Titus said, “We’ve seen the popularity of our CBD products for humans grow significantly in recent years and look forward to achieving the same type of success in the animal health and wellness market.”

Puerto Rico Approves HempMeds® CBD Oil Products
Medical Marijuana, Inc. announced that its portfolio company HempMeds® has had its CBD hemp oil products approved for distribution throughout the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico, making it the first cannabis-based product to be approved for sale in the territory.
“We are pleased with the decision to reinstate the registration of HempMeds products in Puerto Rico, as we can now continue providing the more than 3.6 million residents of this territory with CBD hemp oil products that are helping people around the world,” said Dr. Titus. “We are extremely proud to have been the first company to provide the people of Puerto Rico with CBD hemp oil products, especially after the World Health Organization’s recent recommendation not to schedule CBD.”
Puerto Rico first reversed its decision to allow Medical Marijuana, Inc.’s products in the territory, citing federal cannabis laws. The government in Puerto Rico has since again changed its stance, allowing our Real Scientific Hemp Oil™ products to be sold in the country, even pushing back against the federal government in favor of medical cannabis.
“This change constitutes a regression provoked by the lack of knowledge of what scientific evidence shows about the benefits of cannabis in the health of citizens who suffer from certain conditions,” Puerto Rico’s Governor Ricardo Rosselló said in response to U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ decision to pursue action against legal medical marijuana.
