Fathers of “Alina” and “Maria Paula” Receive Historic First Permits From COFEPRIS to Import RSHO-X From HempMeds®; MJNA’s CBD, RSHO-X, Now Available to More Than 126 Million People in Mexico With Permit
SAN DIEGO, Feb. 02, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Medical Marijuana, Inc. (OTC Pink:MJNA) is proud to inform shareholders and the public that today the Health Department of Mexico, COFEPRIS, issued the country’s first-ever government permits to import cannabidiol (CBD) hemp oil. One of the permits is granted to 11 Year-Old Alina Maldonado Montes de Oca whose father, Abelardo Maldonado Constantino, drove eight hours – one way – by bus to pick up the historic document. These are the first import permits in Mexico’s history allowing importation of non-psychoactive cannabis oil / cannabidiol (CBD) hemp oil. The brand of CBD hemp oil that Alina and Maria Paula are accessing is RSHO-X by Medical Marijuana, Inc., as stated by the Mexican government agency COFEPRIS.
“We would like to express our appreciation for the government of Mexico, in particular COFEPRIS, that took the time to understand the need for Alina’s and Maria Paula’s access to RSHO-X cannabidiol (CBD) hemp oil,” states Stuart W. Titus, PhD and Chief Executive Officer of Medical Marijuana, Inc. “Their permits signify a new chapter in world history and an epic change in Mexico’s cannabis laws. All others in Mexico wishing to access CBD hemp oil may now do so, according to the government health agency’s statement issued today.”

The cannabis movement is quickly progressing in Mexico and kicked-off with a series of Congressional hearings on Monday, January 25th where HempMeds® Mexico, General Hemp, Dr. Bronner’s Mexico, Heaven Grown, Be Hemp and Cañamo Magazine along with the Por Grace Foundation rallied at an historic event in Mexico City called, “Medical Cannabis In Mexico: Experiences and Perspectives”.
The educational event was hosted by HempMeds® Mexico’s premier charitable partner, the “Por Grace Foundation.” The Foundation’s goal is to make sure Mexican families receive the right to health care, and inform parents with children whose lives could be dramatically impacted by CBD hemp oil. Nearly 200 families attended the Mexico City event. Some of the keynote speakers include a highly respected neurologist in Mexico City, Dr. Saul Garza Morales, and Medical Marijuana, Inc.’s Chief Executive Officer, Stuart W. Titus, PhD.
“It is a tremendous honor for both Medical Marijuana, Inc. and HempMeds® Mexico to be the pioneers for the cannabis revolution taking place in Mexico,” concludes Dr. Titus.
Medical Marijuana, Inc. and HempMeds® will participate in more educational symposiums. For more information on RSHO-X, visit http://www.hempmeds.mx.
