MJBiz Daily, Pot Stock News, and The San Diego Union Tribune Included Coverage of MJNA This Week

Medical cannabis in Brazil, the U.S. hemp industry, and investing in cannabis lead Medical Marijuana, Inc. headlines this past week.

The Medical Marijuana, Inc. family of companies were in the news again this week. Here are our highlights from last week’s media coverage.

Marijuana Business Daily Looks at Medical Cannabis in Brazil

Respected cannabis business journal Marijuana Business Daily looked at a growing issue of administrative choke points slowing access to prescription CBD products in Brazil.

“The medical cannabis structure that requires patients in Brazil to get individual authorizations to import their MMJ products is “insufficient” to meet growing demand in the country, according to a former sanitary surveillance agency director. The continuous increase of individual authorizations to import medical cannabis could force Agencia Nacional de Vigilancia Sanitaria (ANVISA) to make changes to the existing process,” Dirceu Barbano told Marijuana Business Daily.

“Despite being the only registered medicine that can be sold in Brazilian pharmacies, it’s almost impossible to find [Mevatyl],” Norberto Fischer, spokesman for HempMeds® Brasil and father of Anny, the first authorized patient in Brazil, told MJBizDaily of the only registered cannabis medicine in Brazil. “This means the only legal way of accessing cannabis is through the direct importation of non-registered products, for which not only a prescription but also a special ANVISA authorization is necessary.”

Medical Marijuana, Inc. subsidiary HempMeds® Brasil was the first company to legally import and distribute non-registered cannabis products in the form of RSHO™ CBD oil products in the spring of 2014. You can learn more here.

2018 Farm Bill Could Revolutionize Hemp and CBD in the U.S.

The CEO of Medical Marijuana, Inc. Dr. Stuart Titus was interviewed this week for The San Diego Union-Tribune Community Spotlight radio show. Dr. Titus is a regular guest on the U-T Community Spotlight with host Drew Schlosberg, sharing updates about Medical Marijuana, Inc., which is headquartered in San Diego, and educating listeners on the wellness benefits of CBD.

Topics of this recent interview included the implications of the 2018 Farm Bill, which legalized hemp in the U.S. by removing it from the Controlled Substances Act. Dr. Titus discussed how Medical Marijuana, Inc. and our portfolio of hemp companies plan to take advantage of hemp policy changes in the 2018 Farm Bill. Dr. Titus also revealed the trending growth of the CBD industry worldwide and how that increase in popularity has driven our company’s international growth over the past few years.

MJNA Featured as Potential Cannabis Investment

In an article published January 16th, Pot Stock News looked at cannabis penny stocks that were trading in the green, including Medical Marijuana, Inc. and profiled the potential for investing in cannabis as a growth sector.

“Marijuana penny stocks are up and down again today, despite the positive share movement from the big cannabis players. Usually, when investors are buying up shares of big cannabis companies, they often indulge in smaller penny stocks as well. That doesn’t seem to be the case this week. However, most are on the upswing and could all trade green before the day is through,” the article reads.

The article also looked at MJNA portfolio company HempMeds® and the launch of its newest product, Real Scientific Hemp Oil™ Maximum Strength. With 4,500 mg of CBD per 10 gram oral applicator, RSHO™ Max Strength is the most potent CBD product HempMeds® offers in their store.
